Last week we had a wonderful field trip to the Meijer Gardens. Students who were interested in going on the trip put their name in a lottery. Forty students were able to go on the trip and we had a wonderful time. Volunteer docents led us on a guided tour of the indoor sculptures, visited the butterflies, and then went outside to explore the children's gardens and view the outdoor sculptures. Because of a travel grant from the Michigan Youth Arts and Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs, we were able to attend this trip!
5th graders are learning about complimentary colors and how to draw using perspective. Here are examples of their work they did last week.
