This piece brought up some amazing discussions amongst the 6th graders. Here are a few quotes from the 6th graders about the experience:
"I learned about just following your dreams, and that you can do what you want to with art. Also to have fun!"
"I learned how to paint in an abstract way. I learned that you can use the end of the paintbrush to scrape paint. I liked that she only cared if we had fun. I would like to learn more about abstract art."
"One thing that I learned was that sometime art forms make you feel free."
About the final piece "It looks epic!"
"It was a privilege to have her here."
"I like how she let us be ourselves, be creative, and get a little messy. It looks awesome and really cool!"
"I want to know where to get those boards? I want to get some and do that at home!"
Because of funding from the BCFAB we were able to create this artwork and allow the students to have this memorable experience of a visiting artist!
